Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, is a water-soluble vitamin.Folic acid consists of pteridine, p-aminobenzoic acid and L-glutamic acid, also known as pteroylglutamic acid, which is a type of B vitamin. Folic acid is rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. Folic acid is mainly absorbed in the duodenum and proximal jejunum. There is a important role in promoting the maturity of young cells in the cells in the bone marrow,which is ialso mportant for pregnant women, for example the lack of VB9.
